Dressing Up for Halloween

This year we had a low key Halloween celebration. P dressed up in her Sacagawea costume and D choose her colonial costume. We attended a Fall Festival at a local church, which was fun but difficult for P, since most of the games required a ball being thrown which is hard for her while balancing on crutches. We did go Trick-or-Treating at night. D decided to change costumes, and went out as a black cat. She has a plethora of choices from her dress-up clothes in her closet! A pushed P from house to house in her wheel chair but then she wanted to go to the doors on her crutches. I assisted her by holding her candy bag, but many people gave strange looks as they put the candy in the bag. It wasn't until I could explain why I was holding the bag and they saw the crutches that they showed tons of sympathy. She received a bunch of "bless your heart" and "poor thing" and one "it must really be worth it to go trick-or-treating on crutches". After walking a little of the neighborhood we came home and the girls then manned our door handing out the candy.

Glad P got the chance to enjoy the fun. Compared P's pic with costume blog of last year and her growth is very visable. Can't believe D can still fit the cat outfit. Perhaps it is time to tuck it away for the third generation?!

The cat costume is too small, about 2 inches above her shoes, but in the dark in didn't matter! She had her face painted at the Fall Festival - a cat nose and whiskers, hence the reason she changed costumes. She was happy and cute!
