In April P had to make a decision concerning her skating future. She needed to choose to stay in the "Beginner" level for the next skating competition and most likely win first, or to challenge herself and move up to the "No Test" level and most likely not even place. She wanted more than ever to be in "No Test", realizing that it would require tons of hard work and persistence to be able to accomplish the skills required for this level. So the training began - she worked on all her single jumps - the flip, loop and lutz and also her sit spin and camel spin with a minimum of three rotations.
On Saturday, June 6th, we traveled to West Orange, NJ for P's first "No Test" competition. She handled her nerves well and she skated fantastically! Ice Coach was just so pleased with her AND apparently the judges agreed and ranked P 2nd out of 8 girls!!! What an exciting day it was for P.
