School Days, School Days...

We are all in shock that school began today here in Alabama. Our summer was just not long enough to fully recuperate. But here we go again...

P is now in 7th grade and will be attending a local Christian school. As I drove her this morning, she seemed confident she could handle the academic part of school but very anxious about finding a friend. This afternoon when I picked her up she was very bubbly and talkative about her wonderful day and meeting a variety of classmates. Overall she had an A+ day!

D is now in the 2nd grade (notice the fingers) and will be home schooled this year. She was extremely excited to set up our classroom which is currently in the spare bedroom. She helped me unpack the curriculum I used when I home schooled P for her 2nd grade year. D made sure she checked out the title of each book as she placed it on the bookshelf. How sweet. So today we did a half day, since my workbooks for math and handwriting haven't arrived yet. We are hoping to be up and running by next Monday. Today was a special day for just the two of us!

Way to go, D and P! We're glad God blessed you both (and your mom, too) with a good start to school!
