Playing Catch - Up

Well, time sure flies by when you are insanely busy! I apologize for the Travel Log not continuing - technical difficulties with the laptop while we were on the road. As I type this, A is formatting the laptop. He loves to format computers, which I think is one of the worst parts of computer ownership. ANYWAY... here is a very consolidated update covering the past 2 1/2 weeks we've been in Alabama.

Our second day of travel we stopped at the Natural Bridge in Virginia. Of course I love anything to do with Geology and so was in heaven on earth! Afterwards we had a long day of driving to Tennessee.

One goofy kid!

On our third day we visited the Natural Bridge in Tennessee. This one was much smaller, but we were able to walk over top and underneath this bridge - way cool. There also wasn't a soul around - whereas the Virginia bridge was a popular tourist stop.

Look closely - A, P and D are sitting on top of the arch. My stomach was too queasy, so I chose to take the pic.

So our first task when we got to Alabama was to paint the girls' rooms. The girls spent a lot of brain power making the right decision, since they are going to have to live with it for the next 3 years. D used her comforter as inspiration, while P used the "Bali Gold" Vera Bradley fabric for her inspiration. I plan to highlight this project more when the girls' room are completed but here are some teaser photos.

Then our shipment arrived with no major problems, except the fact that we couldn't move around our garage for days!!

And much to my surprise, since I thought nobody would ever want to visit us in Alabama the 3 years we are here, we have had TWO different guests come through. The first weekend our friend Mr. D came from Germany. He was big help with the cable and security alarm install along with helping A not hit his head anymore on the chandelier!

Then last weekend we had our friends the H family visit us from Florida. While us adults worked, the kids had tons of fun creating a play, then challenging each other on the Wii and finally an old fashioned pig pile! Good times.

So that is what has been keeping us busy. I hope to be better at more prompt updates!

So glad to have you active on the blog again. We missed you. I think we should all find a way to come down to Alabama for a visit!

Thanks for the update! I'm glad you're there and are getting settled. Gene will do a white glove inspection when he's there next month, so you'd better be ready! He's also going to inspect for any boxes that are stuck in corners. (Not that that EVER happens in our house!) We love you guys!
