What to do????

What does one do with an excessive amount of Mardi Gras beads??? On the way home from the parade last Saturday it crossed my mind that I didn't have a clue as to what to do with all these beads. I am a "less is more" kinda girl and personally I was in favor of tossing them in the trash the moment we walked into the house, but the girls wouldn't hear of it. So D wore her beads around her neck all Sunday, Monday, and finally on Tuesday I had to ask her to remove them because they were distracting her from school. I think she really wanted to show me that she valued these beads. Still I racked my brain as to what to do with them.



Well, this is what we ended up doing. It is not an original idea, we actually borrowed it from the flute instructor, and even though it is terribly gaudy and tacky, it was fun to do. D got to stand on the dinner table to string the beads on the light fixture and P helped point D to the spaces that need more beads. How silly to hang beads from our chandelier, but I guess that is what the point of Mardi Gras is - to just have a good time and enjoy life.
