10 Blessing for '10

Instead of boring you with paragraph after paragraph of daily life in the family, we thought we’d keep our Christmas newsletter to just ten short blessings we’ve experienced this past year. So, as Letterman would say...

#10. After 6 long years and countless long TDY road trips, A’s ’93 LeBaron made its’ final journey to Birmingham in January, to be replaced by a ’10 Mazda CX-9. There’s already too many miles on “Babe”, as it was affectionately named by the girls for its dazzling blue paint job and mighty roar as A drives away!

#9. After a year without skating due to surgery, and a wrongful death suit for a local mall worker where the rink is located, P was able to hit the only ice in town once again and hasn’t skipped a beat. All the little girls are oohing and aahing as she spins, jumps and graces the ice!

#8. Darling D picked up the flute she received last Christmas and has been amazing her teacher all year with her musical talent. So much so that her teacher wants to start an ensemble with her and two other flutists!

#7. R and A both underwent Laser eye surgery this year and both are seeing 20/20 or better! A’s surgery was free through the Air Force and R had surgery through The Laser Center in Atlanta.

#6. P just finished this weekend with her own talent show, acting as Grace Bradley in her school’s play of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever.” The girls read the book every year, so a very happy treat to not only do the play, but to have such a fun and leading role in the production. Always busy, this is her 3rd production of the year and ready to audition once again!

#5. Once again, D uses her talent on the stage as our ballerina. Not only is she doing well in class, but she’s invited to participate in shows with the Montgomery Ballet! The Nutcracker Ballet is this weekend, where she’ll play a soldier and polichinelle.

#4. We are blessed to have two smart kiddos with P averaging 100’s and D blazing through 3rd grade at home in addition to the science fairs, spelling bees, and other school projects for both girls.

#3. After many visits around the community, and visitors at our door inviting us to come back, our prayers to find a place to worship God were answered at Journey Church. The kids are up and dressed early on Sunday, which is more than we can say for the rest of the week!

#2. We were blessed with many visitors to our home this year! Too many to name names, but what a wonderful year to look back upon with our family, friends and TDY buds all stopping by to say hello.

#1. We’re blessed most of all by the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. We would not be who we are, where we are, experiencing life to the fullest without his birth and ultimate sacrifice for us. We pray that He will bless you this Christmas, as he has so richly blessed us!

Good thing that Lettermen doesn't have a top 20. But it was such a very busy and interesting year, you could probably have filled the twenty slots. Merry Christmas to yu'al.
