YUM&MY MATH

I love, love, love brilliant teaching methods. Using M&Ms to teach math is one of those fantastic concept! Thanks to our dear friend Mrs. C., we were able to have a yummy math lesson this week. Mrs. C. had first introduced M&M math to us while P was in her 4th grade class. While visiting Mrs. C. this summer, she slipped me a copy of the worksheet so that D & I could learn and have fun this school year. The worksheet had D estimating, adding, subtracting, comparing and grouping all with the M&Ms. I was able to find a graph online designed just for M&M math. As D filled in her graph, she learned how to make her key and work fractions. Also at this point in the lesson she was also able to munch on a few of the yummy chocolates. Check out that cheek, how many do you think are stuffed in there??? Your turn to do the math!!!

Clever work and snack all rolled into one.

The cheek looks pretty full but D is such a little lady, my guess would be only three - and probably green.

Way to go, guys! C discovered a while back that sugar helps the algebra go down. She tends to do math wearing a funny hat and eating gobstoppers! Whatever works, right?
