This week is Fire Prevention week and at school D entered a coloring contest sponsored by the McGuire Fire & Emergency Services. We were told yesterday, that D had placed in the competition, and that there would be an assembly in the morning today for the winners to be announced. A and I both were able to attend and D was so excited she just couldn't sit still to save her life. Well, as you probably can tell from the title, D won first place. She recieved a blue ribbon, a certificate and a $50 savings bond! WOW. After all the hoopla, D looked at me and said "I can't believe I won - I just LOVE to color"! So sweet.

D - What a beautiful job you did on the Fire Prevention picture. I like the colors you used. You were very careful about staying within the lines too. It was certainly a first place effort. We are so proud of you. MM
